Grand inauguration of Vasudha International in CMS

 


Social development is only possible 
through purposeful education

Lucknow, December 13 : Vasudha International, an event based on sustainable development, being organised by City Montessori School, Rajendra Nagar Campus II was inaugurated online in the midst of colourful educational-cultural performances by CMS students. The objective of Vasudha International is to promote active contribution of students in achieving the ‘Sustainable Development Goals 2030’set by the United Nations. Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Shri Hari Om Sharma informed that student delegations from USA, UK, Kuwait, Georgia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mauritius, Jordan, Montenegro and different parts of India are participating in this international event. In the inauguration ceremony held today, CMS students put up a scintillating performance of educational-cultural items in the honour of participating students from India and abroad and mesmerized the audience.
    Speaking at the inauguration, British Scientist and educationist, Dr Roger Kingdon said that social development is only possible through purposeful education. Dr Kingdon futher said that the 'Sustainable Development Goals' of the United Nations have been set for welfare of the entire world humanity but its success depends on the participation and contribution of the younger generation. Therefore, the effort of CMS in this direction is really commendable and exemplary. I am confident that this event will further strengthen our students’ commitment towards sustainable development.
    Speaking on the occasion, CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that CMS students are continuously striving for world unity, world peace and welfare of world humanity for more than six decades and this event is another effort in the same direction. CMS Founder Director, 
Dr Bharti Gandhi also called for contribution of young generation for social development. CMS President & MD, Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon said that this event will certainly inspire the young generation to create an atmosphere of unity, peace, harmony and prosperity in the world. Chief Executive Officer of CMS, Mr Roshan Gandhi also expressed his views on ‘Sustainability in Schools’. Convenor of Vasudha International and Principal of CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus II, Mrs Shameem Singh, while expressing her gratitude towards everyone, said that only the future generation with a global outlook shall build a new world order.
    As a part of this event, participants from India and abroad have prepared projects on broad categories of five essential elements of nature, Kutumb (family), Urja, Vayu, Van and Jal after intense research and preparation for 45 days. These projects borrow their themes from the 17 Sustainable Development Goals like poverty alleviation, hunger eradication, health, quality education, gender inequality, clean energy and clean climate, clean water, biodiversity etc. CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and Conference convenor, Mrs Shameem Singh will provide detailed information about this international conference in a Press Conference scheduled tomorrow, on Tuesday, 14th December at 1.00 pm at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium.
